The center was founded in 1978 and its former directors include Professors Tao Shouqi, Chen Zaijia, Xu Yishu and Chen Jilin who are all famous cardiologists in China. The center currently has a staff of 8 professors, 8 associate professors, 7 attending doctors, and postgraduates and PhD candidates. The center has conducted many national scientific research programs in the last 20 years.

 

Since the development of interventional treatment in 1987, the center has treated more than 12,000 cases. The center has come into the range of large international centers both in the number of cases and their effectiveness as the mortality and morbidity rate during hospitalization is significantly lower than that of international standards The center pays much attention to international communications, and has organized many international conferences on interventional treatment which attracted many famous experts on interventional treatment both from home and abroad. The center also has the honor of relaying live operations to interventional treatment conferences in Singapore, Europe, Japan and Korea.
