The Hypertension Diagnosis and Treatment Center was founded in 2003 and comprises research departments and clinical wards. The executive director of the center is Professor Hui Rutai. The center is one of the authoritative professional groups in hypertension, and takes the lead in differential diagnosis of secondary hypertension including aldosteronism, pheochrocytoma, renal hypertension etc.

 

Many experts from the center took part in the compilation of ¡¶National Prevention and Treatment Guidelines for Hypertension¡·,which provided the instructions on clinical practice with hypertension.

 

The center takes an active part in international large-scale clinical trials for cardiovascular drugs under the leadership of Professor Liu Lisheng, the international cooperative programs include PROGRESS, INTER-HEART, CCS-2 etc, who was the first to suggest the idea of "arteritis" in 1964. 

 

The center has sponsored many national and international conferences including annual "international hypertension and associated diseases workshop" ,  "Sino-Japan hypertension forum " and "national hypertension forum".
