Adult Cardiac Surgery Center is the biggest clinical center in Fu Wai Hospital. It is also one of the biggest cardiac surgery centers in the world comprising 3 wards , an ICU and 110 beds for patients. The Chairman of Chinese Cardiothoracic Surgery Association, the famous cardiovascular surgeon, Pro. Hu Shenshou and pre-chairman Pro. Zhu Xiaodong are practitioners in this center. Adult Cardiac Surgery Center maintains the forefront position in Chinese cardiac surgery. All kinds of cardiac procedures are successfully performed in this center, including CABG, Valvular repair or replacement, complicated congenital heart defect correction in patients older than 6 years, LVADs or ECMO implantation for heart failure patients, heart transplantation, etc. Every year, more than 3000 patients receive cardiac surgical treatment in the Adult Cardiac Surgery Center. The mortality of operation is less than 1.1%.
