The Advanced Training and Visiting Program (ATVP) of Vascular Surgery in Fuwai Hospital, focuses on novel techniques and therapeutic strategies on vascular diseases including aortic dissection, aortic aneurysm, peripheral artery diseases and venous diseases. ATVP of Vascular Surgery has been successfully conducted since 2015, the individual participants and groups from Indonesia, Greece, Brazil, Argentina, and other areas have joined ATVP, which generated satisfying academic communication cooperation in field of vascular surgery.
Fuwai Hospital, is one of the world's largest centers also the top center nationwide for diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, in particular, all types of complex, rare or uncommon cardiovascular diseases. Fu Wai Hospital is recognized as the unique one for such large volume procedures world-wide. It is also the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases, China (NCCD) for patient care, education, research and prevention in cardiovascular diseases.
The vascular surgery center of Fuwai Hospital now is the most comprehensive and integrated department in field of vascular disease treatment, the therapeutic scope including nearly all human vessels in which distributed in three wards. With the well-known largest volume of cases and decreased mortality, it obtained worldwide reputation on aortic open/hybrid surgery and endovascular aortic repair.
For better cooperation and academic exchange in field of vascular surgery, we are glad to share our experiences and to receive visiting scholars and trainees worldwide. All certificated vascular surgeon, cardiac surgeon, cardiologist, and radiologist are qualified to apply the international scholarship of ATVP of vascular surgery in Fuwai Hospital. According to individual’s interest and training background, the length of training program could be categorized in short-term (1-month), mid-term (3-months) and long-term (6-months).
For ATVP, we have prepared live demonstration and case-based learning program. The fundamental feature of ATVP is case-based learning, thanks to large volume of vascular diseases in our center, every participant of ATVP could have chance to observe live demonstration and furthermore, trainee could be arranged in live case for hand-on-hand learning. Participants are also welcomed in daily Grand Round in ward of vascular surgery, and preoperative discussion with colleagues. Topics concerning perioperative management, complications, tips and novel techniques will be shared and discussed by lectures.
Education Department of Fuwai Hospital conducts the executive management of ATVP. For each applicant of ATVP, scholarship candidate selection processing will be performed by Surgical Committee and Vascular Surgery Center after receiving application letter and form.
